Bring out your Canva (s)

Have you ever wanted to create amazing designs for your website, Facebook cover or anything else on the net but you just weren’t confident in the results? I know I have, that is why I always keep an eye out for new and exciting applications to help me in such situations. Well, I found the new Canva online app, which is currently in beta version, and I am happy to share my experience with you.

Using Photoshop or other image editing software comes at a pretty steep price not only for your pocket but for your time as well. Their highly complex editing capabilities require you to spend hours and hours studying and trying different methods to hone your skills to achieve the polished professional look you desire. With Canva you can do almost the same and as quickly and easily as downloading a professional image from the Internet.

‘How can this be possible?’, you might ask. It’s simple – you choose a layout, rearrange it, put some images (stock or your own), add some text, and you’re good to go: the birthday card for your mother is ready and even sent to her and uploaded on her Facebook Timeline. With Canva you can show your creative side with no trouble whatsoever. Whether you’re a tech geek or a sports jock, your Canvas will scream YOU with its every element.

Registration is fast and effortless, you can either use your Facebook account or an email address. Once you are logged in, you will be presented with suggestions and editor’s picks to get you started right away. The powerful search tool of Canva lets you browse through millions of images and can probably keep you up for hours choosing among them but, hey, that’s the beauty of Canva ‘s diverse options.

And a quick tip: if you write Facebook in the search bar, all of your Facebook photos and images will be loaded. Neat, right?

The pre-made layouts that the guys from Canva have put together, contain the most common situations you might need to design an image for – like Facebook covers, presentations, cards, posters, blog graphics, invitations, photo collages, and more. If that is not enough for you, you can specify your own dimensions and layout for the image and start designing. There is also a vast collection of free stock images you can use and an even larger one with stock images which cost just $1 per use – probably the lowest price of stock images you can find on the Internet.

All in all, if you are looking for a practically free and easy design tool to spruce up your blog or website with custom professional-looking images, then the Canva online app is the thing for you.
