How to use R1Soft with Mozilla Firefox 39.0

Since Firefox had its last update (39.0 at the time), it has tightened its security polices, which leaves some services unusable and R1Soft is one of them.

The Error given is something like: An error occurred during a connection to backups.webhostface.com:31500. SSL received a weak ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key in Server Key Exchange handshake message. (Error code: ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key)

This tutorial will guide you how to return a small part of the old Firefox security policies, so that R1Soft can be usable again.

  • Open Mozilla Firefox (if you haven’t already)
  • In the URL bar type about:config and press Enter

Mozilla Firefox about:config

  • It will ask you if you are sure that you want to proceed – press “I’ll be careful, I promise!”
