Common reasons for a domain transfer to fail

There are a few common reasons that are often the cause of an unsuccessful domain transfer. Here is a list of them so you can check if you have missed anything on your end:

Transfer your project to WebHostFace
  1. The domain has Domain Privacy enabled. During a domain transfer from one registrar to another it is a must for the domain privacy to be switched off.
  2. Domain is still on status Locked/ClientTransferProhibited/TransferProhibited.
  3. Wrong Authorization Code (EPP key). Note that the Authorization code is case sensitive and it can be only used once even if the domain transfer had failed. After each domain transfer attempt, you need to ask your domain registrar to issue a new Authorization code for you.
  4. Wrong Administrative email address. Once a domain transfer is initiated a confirmation email will be sent to the admin email for transfer approval.
  5. There are less than 15 days until the domain name’s expiration date.
  6. The domain name was registered for the first time less than 60 days ago.

*Note that any change on your domain takes usually a couple of hours to propagate over all the whoIs records worldwide.
