Telnet is a network protocol that is used to provide an interactive, text-based facility that uses a virtual terminal connection.
To enable the telnet client in Windows you need to:
- Open the start menu and click Control Panel.
- Click on Programs and Features (if you do not see it, you can type it in the search box there).
- On the left sidebar you will see Turn Windows features On or Off.
- Look for telnet client, put a tick on it and hit okay.
- Restart may be required.
Another option is to open your Start Menu -> Run -> CMD and type:
pkgmgr /iu:”TelnetClient”
