How to install Laravel?

This article will guide you how to install Laravel through Softaculous.

First, make sure the PHP version of your root folder is compatible with the version of Laravel you wish to install. Softculous offer only the latest version of Laravel (currently version 5.4), which requires PHP 5.6 or later. You also need to make sure that the phar and mcrypt PHP extensions are enabled.

If you are hosted with WebHostFace you can easily activate them from the “Select PHP Version” option:

If you wish to install Laravel in a subfolder, see our guide on how to change the PHP version per directory.

After making those configurations enter Softaculous which is also located under the “Software/Services” section in your Cpanel.

Search for “Laravel” in the search bar in the upper right corner. All you need to do is choose the domain for your new Laravel installation and choose the location in the “In Directory” section. If you want to install it in your public_html leave the field blank.

Keep in mind that by default, Laravel is installed in a subfolder called /public. To configure Laravel to open directly via your domain, follow the steps here.

If you wish to install an older version of Laravel, you need to use Composer. To install Laravel through Composer, follow the steps here. You can always contact the WebHostFace Team for Laravel assistance as well!
