What is phishing?

Phishing is trying to pose as a legitimate, reliable website in order to obtain sensitive information – email addresses, credit card information, passwords, etc.

Phishing is most often done by emails or instant messages, which contain links to false payment processors, banks, auctioneers, insurance companies (just to name a few), where you are required to enter your details. Most phishing websites use domains, which are similar to well-known Internet institutions – most often Facebook and PayPal, but with slight alterations.

Note: Always double check the exact name and domain of the site before you enter any sensitive information!

Phishing is a form of an internet scam and is illegal. You can report a suspicious website on Google, so they can investigate the case and flag it in their database. WebHostFace does not provide hosting for phishing sites and such activities result in immediate account suspension.
