How to transfer my domain away from NameCat?

Before initiating the transfer of your domain name from NameCat to us, please make sure that:

  • There are more than 15 days until the domain name’s expiration date.
  • The domain name was registered for the first time more than 60 days ago.
  • The domain name has extension that WebHostFace is able to register.

After that you should confirm your Administrative Contact Information because they are going to use this email address to send you important information about the transfer.

To update this information:

  • Log into your NameCat Account.
  • Click on Domain Manager.
  • Click Contact, review your contact information and make any necessary changes.
  • Click OK.

If all of the above prerequisites are met, the next thing to do is to proceed with the domain transfer from NameCat to us. It is extremely easy and can be done in a few steps:

1. Remove Privacy Protection

To cancel your domain’s Private Registration, you must log into your Domains By Proxy® account. Domains By Proxy is a separate company with its own website, and your Domains By Proxy account has unique login information. Domains By Proxy emailed you your login information when you purchased the service.

Note: When you cancel your domain’s Private Registration, your personal information: your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number, will be displayed publicly in the Whois database.

To Cancel Private Registration for Your Domain Name(s):

  • Log into your account at DomainsByProxy.com.
  • Select Private Domains, and then select the domain name(s) you want to cancel Private Registration for.
  • Click Cancel Selected, or click Cancel private registration. The Confirm message displays.
  • Click OK. The Cancel Domains By Proxy message displays.
  • Click OK.

2. Unlock your Domain Name

By default, all domains registered with NameCat are placed in Registrar Lock. Domain locking prevents unauthorized transfers (hijacking) of your domain. Before a domain name transfer is requested, the lock must be removed. To unlock your domain name with NameCat you should:

  • Log into your NameCat Account.
  • Click on Domain Manager.
  • Review your Locked status in the Domain Information section. If the status is Locked, click on Manage next to it.
  • A pop-up window will appear and you have to uncheck the Lock domains check box.
  • Click OK.

Allow up to 24 hours for our system to recognize the change in status.

3. Obtain the Authorization Code

Get an authorization code (also known as an EPP code or transfer key), if required, from NameCat by:

  • Logging into your NameCat Account.
  • Clicking on Domain Manager.
  • In the Domain Information section you can obtain the EPP code by clicking Send by Email next to Authorization Code.
  • Click OK and the Authorization code will be send to your Administration contact email address.

4. Order a Domain Name Transfer

  • Log into your User Area with us.
  • Go to the Domains Tab.
  • Click the Transfers tab and enter your domain.
  • Afterwards you will be asked to enter your domain Authorization Key.

Once the domain name transfer is requested, you will shortly receive a confirmation email to approve it.

You will receive an email from WebHostFace once the transfer is complete. If you have not received the confirmation email in seven days time, you should contact us to inquire about your transfer status.
